The students in the Low grouping classroom participate in academic, vocational and life skills activities. Students in the Dyspraxic and low grouping classrooms have the opportunity to rotate between classes. The schedule is based the individual student's needs. Our students also attend a variety of vocational training activities at off campus worksites. These include North Seattle Community College, Greenwood Library, Ballard food bank, University Food bank, and Northwest Hospital. Some students participate in the Experience Internship program (XIP) at Providence Mt. St. Vincent. We work on core academic skills, life skills, and social skills. The students practice a variety of life and social skills on community integration trips.
I attended Illinois State University and taught students 14-21 years of age for 15 years at the Diagnostic Developmental Center in Mattoon Illinois. For two years, I taught in Ottawa Illinois. Since relocating to Washington, I have been teaching at Ingraham High School.
